Check-in and check-out

  • When can I check in to the hotel?

    You can check in from 16:00. If you arrive earlier, you can store your baggage in the hotel's baggage area until your room is ready. If the room has been cleaned and is ready before 16:00, you may have access to the room earlier. Please be aware of our additional charge for early check-in. Early check-in is from 10.00 and a fee of approx. 20 EUR will apply (200 SEK/NOK/DKK or 80 Zloty). Other prices apply to our signature hotels in Norway.

  • When do I have to check out of the hotel?

    The room is yours until 12:00 on your day of departure. If you wish to check out later than 12:00, please contact reception. Please be aware of our additional charge for late check-out. If you are a member and have reached Level 3, Close Friend or higher, you can enjoy a complimentary late checkout of +1 hour, subject to availability at check-in. Late check-out is until 16.00 and a fee of approx. 20 EUR will apply (200 SEK/NOK/DKK or 80 Zloty). Other prices apply to our signature hotels in Norway.

  • How do I guarantee my reservation for late arrival?

  • Can I check out online at all Scandic hotels?

  • What are the benefits of checking out online?

    It's quick and easy and no queues. You choose when you would like to check out, for example, you can settle your bill the night before. You receive your receipt by email.

  • Can everyone check out online?

    We send an invitation to everyone who registers a mobile number and/or e-mail address at check-in. Currently, we are only offering this self-service option to those who pay for their stay with a debit or credit card. In order to take advantage of this offer, you need access to a smartphone, tablet or computer.

  • How does check-out work?

    The day before your departure (17:00 at the earliest) you receive an SMS text message and/or e-mail message with a link to the online check-out. There you can review your bill, add purchases from the mini-bar, update your address details and pay for your stay. After paying and choosing your check-out time, you are ready. Your receipt is sent as a PDF to your e-mail address on your departure day. If you're a member of Scandic Friends, you can save your card information on your profile, for an even quicker check out next time.

  • Which debit/credit cards can I use?

    You can pay with the same cards that are accepted at reception; Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners, Dankort (Denmark) and JCB.

  • Why can't I use my debit/credit card?

    Be careful not to use any special characters in the boxes for name and card number, e.g. (.) (,) (-) (/) (:).

  • How/when will I receive my receipt?

    Your receipt is sent electronically as a PDF to your e-mail address by 12:00 at the latest, on your departure day. If you have chosen to check out earlier than 12:00, for example at 08:00, the receipt will be e-mailed directly after 08:00. If you do not receive your receipt by e-mail after check-out, please contact the hotel.

  • What should I do if I haven't received my receipt?

    If you haven't received a receipt for your stay via e-mail, you can contact the hotel and we will send you a new receipt. Contact information for the hotel can be found on the hotel website.

  • What should I do with my room key?

    You can leave your room key at reception or put it straight into the designated key box next to reception.

Booking

  • I have a discount code/bonus cheque/reward night, where do I fill in the code when I book?

    Click on Booking Code, Bonus Cheque or Reward Night and enter the code in the ‘Add booking code’ field in our booking dialogue. Discount codes that you can use here include gift cards and promotion codes.

  • How do I book with a corporate agreement?

    Click on Booking Code, Corporate Cheque or Reward Night and enter the code in the ‘Add booking code’ field in our booking dialogue. Enter the agreement code (eg. D number: D123456789).

  • How do I book with a student discount?

    You must have a valid booking code. This can be found on the Mecenat website, along with terms and conditions for student discounts. Enter the code in the ‘Add booking code’ field in our booking dialogue.

  • How do I book a room online using a gift card?

    Instructions for booking with a gift card can be found on the front of your gift card.

    Please note that gift cards with values of 100 or 500 can only be used when booking Flex products, as payment must take place at the hotel. These gift cards cannot therefore be used to book Save or other products that are charged at the time of booking.

  • How do I guarantee my reservation for late arrival?

    When you book your hotel stay you will get the option to click "Guarantee booking for late arrival and extras" in the booking process on the page Booking details and Terms for this booking.

  • I am under 18 years of age, can I stay with you without a guardian/parent?

  • How do I cancel or make changes to my reservation?

    Bookings made on the website can be both changed or cancelled here, click on ‘View booking/Cancellation’. Bookings made via central booking or directly with the hotel cannot be changed/cancelled via the website. Please contact our central booking on telephone number +46 8 517 517 00.

  • Can I book via the website without giving my credit card number?

    Yes, you can book without prepaying your reservation. Payment takes place at the hotel instead. However, reservations at a Save rate and some promotions must be paid at the time of booking.

  • Why can't I use my debit/credit card to book?

  • I haven't received a booking confirmation, what should I do?

    We can always find your reservation upon check in as long as you have a valid ID card with you.

Gift cards

  • What values are available?

    The gift card contains a value of any amount, minimum 20 EUR (local currency) that can be used as payment or partial payment at all Scandic hotels in the country for which the gift card was purchased. Please note that the gift card cannot be used for prepaid products.

  • Can I use my gift card for prepaid bookings?

    No, unfortunately, you cannot use gift cards of any denomination for prepaid bookings.

  • How is my gift card delivered?

    The gift card will be sent as a PDF via email to you or the email address you provided in your order. If you have not received your email, please check your spam and junk folders.

  • How long is my gift card valid?

    The gift card is valid for a full 12 months from the date of purchase for gift cards to be used in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The gift card is valid for a full 36 months from the date of purchase for gift cards to be used in Germany. Note that the gift card must be valid throughout the stay, including both the check-in and check-out dates.

  • Do I need to show my gift card at the hotel?

    Yes, the QR code must be clearly visible for scanning, either on your mobile or printed on paper.

  • Where can I buy gift cards for Scandic?
